St.John the Divine is so unique because they support the art community by housing many avant guard exhibitions (including works dedicated to the victims of AIDS), provide musical performances, welcome people of many faiths to worship together at their services, and provide outreach programs to benefit the community. If you are ever in the area, it is definitely worth visiting for its architecture alone.
