A Perfect New York Day

I chanced upon this hidden gem one unbelievably beautiful Spring day in the city when it was a perfect 75 degrees outside, sun was shining, cool breeze, trees and flowers were in bloom, and everyone seemed to be in a good mood. It was one of those perfect New York moments that I wished would last a little longer. I was on my way elsewhere but was lured into this inviting hallway. The walls were a beautiful shade of blue that a photo could never do justice and were adorned with vintage mirrors of different shapes and sizes. There was romantic 1920's playing throughout the hallway and I was curious to see what was at the end of it.  What I found at the end of the white Christmas light decorated tunnel was an even better treat. It led me to Pippin's Vintage where I found some wonderful treasures!

Soap Too Beautiful To be Used

This was a wonderful Christmas gift from a friend. It was so beautiful I didn't want to use it, but it smelled so good and when I found out the benefits of what black soap can do, I finally took the soap out of its box and into the shower. Black soap has anti-aging properties that originated from West Africa. It's known for its ability to relieve acne as well as help remove scars caused by acne. Black soap is sensitive to all skin types (even oily skin) and helps to clear blemishes, skin irritations, or diseases. It is also great for removing makeup.

Terrariums by Emily Waterhouse

These charming terrariums made from hand cut glass are the ambrosial creation of Emily Waterhouse. You can shop for them at The Banquet boutique in Boerum Hill.

360 Atlantic Ave.
Brooklyn, NY

Here's my own take on potting plants. You can find a cute teacup at a yardsale, flea market, or vintage store. Anthropologie always has cute teacups as well. These are the perfect pots for small flowers or plants. I chose chickenheads from my parents garden in Virginia.

Image taken at art exhibition in the Cathedral Church of St.John the Divine in New York. This cathedral is among the most mesmerizing that I have visited. St.John the Divine is so unique because they support the art community by housing many avant guard exhibitions (including works dedicated to the victims of AIDS), provide musical performances, welcome people of many faiths to worship together at their services, and provide outreach programs to benefit the community. If you are ever in the area, it is definitely worth visiting for its architecture alone.
